Flower Hobby workshop
Loads of fun with loads of flowers
Did I tell you why flower arrangement is the best hobby in the whole world?
Why Flower Arranging is the Ultimate Hobby : 10 Benefits
So here are ten reasons why this has become such a passion of mine.
1. Flower arrangement is not difficult to start. But it’s also reasonably challenging if you want to become good at it. This makes it a fun pursuit that you can enjoy.
2. You use all five senses, making your eyes, ears, nose hands and ears occupied. By the way, music is essential when I am arranging
3. It intensifies your sense of nature as you handle fresh, live plants. You reflect on the circle of life, the passing of seasons and your environment through flowers.
4. It’s a fully creative process that involves flowers as an artistic medium.
5. This medium happens to be very reasonably priced here in the Netherlands.
6. You get to experience an art form across both 2D and 3D as you consider the painterly aspect as well as the sculptural aspect when you create.
7. It’s a useful skill to apply in your daily life - to decorate at home, as a gift for a friend or to spice up an event.
8. While flower arranging isn’t taxing on your body, it will encourage you to move your body more.
9. You will learn about different flowers and plants whether you want to or not. It’s almost like learning a new language.
10. Any time of the day, just get some flowers, a vessel, your fav music and let yourself go. It will take your worries away and lift your mood up like nothing else.
So are you ready to give it a try? Well, then below we have some information on our program.
The Workshop Plan
-
Create an overflowing floral beauty out of a simple bowl.
We will focus on color combination as well as the shape of the overall structure.
You will learn key skills to repeat the process at home many times over.
This will hopefully be a start of a long enjoyment of more intentionally designed flower arrangements at home!
-
Tying a bouquet in your hand is not that easy! After years of practice, I still get frustrated every now and then.
But it’s really worth learning the basics. Once you know, you can practice on your own and surprise your friends by bringing a bouquet that you’ve tied yourself!
We will learn and practice the spiral tying technique and take some fun photos together as well.
-
Nothing quite captures the seasonal sentimentality like a wreath. Many of us see it as a fall and winter piece even something just for Christmas.
We think that wreaths can actually be creative and unconventional. I’ve seen wreaths that are square or just very abstract shape and they all can be an excellent decorative piece in any season.
